Man is a social animal, therefore, socializing with his kind has been a basic necessity to him as other needs such as food, shelter etc. People need to express their emotions with others, share their feelings with others and require someone to celebrate and enjoy the moments of life.

At any workplace, where it’s a common phenomenon for workers or employees to work for at least 8 to 9 hours maximum time period. It becomes hard for employees to socialize with their co-workers due to work pressures and job responsibility.

Hence, due to this ceaseless routine work life, organizations had assigned a specific department who assured that there is a humane atmosphere at the workplace focusing on the work-life balance of each employees.

They are responsible to create and sustain attitudes, behaviors and procedures within the workstation that is welcoming for new employees; aiming to create a safe and healthy environment for all workforces.

Now the reason for all this hassle and focus on the employees, their relations and surrounding has been due to the research which has been proved with statistics and history i.e.

“A happy workforce is a productive workforce.”

With the passage of time, research findings have manifested that a major breakthrough for an successful organization is  when they leave no stone unturned in understanding and fulfilling their employee’s needs.

They make every effort in creating an excellent atmosphere for everyone which in turn influences and helps to increase employee’s commitment and loyalty to their work due to their job satisfaction within their work task, establishing healthy relationships with their colleagues while sustaining a secure work environment.

It’s very important for managers to understand the nature of each employee and then adapt to the best suitable anticipative/or consultative style of management with them.

Once they are assured with the correct management style to continue with, this will then result in the encouragement of employee involvement in organization decision, where they will feel more connected and be part of the organizational change, bearing in mind the fact that their voice is i.e. their opinion is being valued and is taken into consideration.

Thus, this ends up creating positive relations among employees boosting employee’s innovation and productivity at their task which results in meeting the goals and objectives of the company resulting in profound output.

Below I have discussed the most important benefits of strong labor relations:

Production:

As discussed previously it’s very important for businesses to maintain healthy working conditions for this leads to higher motivation within the employees that will increase their morale and job satisfaction making them happy and contended with their job resultant in higher production and profits for the company.

Employee loyalty:

Once employees feels happy and secure within their work place and have a good employee relationship, not will they be productive but they would be more dedicated towards their organization.

There is nothing more profitable for a business than to have strong long term employment commitment of employees to their workplace.

This will improve employee’s retention which effects the cost of the company i.e. hiring, recruitment and training of the employees.

Time has proved that the reason for most successful developing companies is that they have low turnover which means having more skilled and trained workforce, which serves as an asset for organization to compete globally.

Conflict reduction:

One of the most benefit of having good employee relations is a good environment that demotes conflict within employees creating better understanding within co-workers and helps them be more focused on their job which supports employee’s productivity.

In the end, I would like to conclude with this famous quote:

“Management is nothing more than motivating other people.”_Lee Iacocca, Ford.
