HR Community is the key to success
Why the many are smarter than the few, James Surowiecki
Do you feel you are working as a HR Team or are in competition with each other?
Well at CourageousHR we believe that a lot of the challenges facing HR actually stems from our inability to work as one HR Community, with one voice and working towards a compelling and strategic service to the business. In other words, at present for many organisations, the HR “whole is less than the sum of its parts.”
Our world is full of myths and the world of HR is no different. It seems some people actually think that there is a pre-ordained power and status hierarchy within HR which puts HR BPs at the top and everyone else is subservient to them. Well at CourageousHR we believe that unless every part of the HR Function is actively involved in engaging with the business and delivering a ‘joined-up’ service then HR BP is merely a window dressing exercise rather than a true transformation.
That is why we put a lot of energy into working with HR Teams to create a genuine HR Community. We use our unique banana boat model (otherwise known as the ‘HR Dynamic Operating Model.’) to create a strong sense of identity, purpose and a common way of working together and with the business. For us, partnerships begin at home and then it is by us living it out that we can start to create genuine partnerships with the business.
